About

Julia Haven

Julia Haven — pop vocalist from Cumberland, Maine

A singer who was never supposed to stand out.

Growing up in Cumberland, Maine, Julia Gagnon spent years trying to blend in. Adopted from Guatemala, she navigated childhood and adolescence wanting nothing more than to disappear into the background. It was her chorus teacher, Nora Krainis, who first heard something different — and quietly changed the course of her life.

A middle school talent show. A teacher's encouragement. A family that cleared every path it could. That's how Julia became a singer.

In November 2023, she was the last person to audition for American Idol Season 22 — and she walked out with one of only three Platinum Tickets, a pass directly through Hollywood Week. She went on to finish in the Top 7, earning praise from judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan for performances ranging from Adele to Whitney Houston to the B-52s.

But Julia has always been clear: American Idol was the beginning, not the story.

Now performing and recording as Julia Haven — her soon-to-be married name — she's releasing original music that feels completely her own. Honest. Emotional. True to her taste. Her debut single Y2K is out now on all streaming platforms, and the Summer 2026 Northeast Tour is underway.

She performs with guitarist and partner Nate Haven and drum prodigy Jackson Cullen — a trio building something from the ground up, one show at a time.
